WilderDEX! Wildlife Collector App

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us and information generated through your use of WilderDEX! This includes: CAMERA AND PHOTOS - We access your camera and photo library solely to identify wildlife you photograph. Images may be processed by OpenAI (GPT-4o) for species identification. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to data processed through their service. LOCATION DATA - When you scan for wildlife, we may request access to your location to record where a species was found and to show nearby discoveries on the map. Location is only accessed during active scanning sessions. ACCOUNT INFORMATION - Your email address and the display name or username you choose when creating an account. WILDLIFE CAPTURES - Records of species you have identified, including photos, location, date, and classification data. DEVICE INFORMATION - Device type, operating system version, and app version to help us diagnose issues and improve the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve our wildlife identification services 

• Sync your collection across devices 

• Display leaderboards and community features 

• Send optional push notifications about discoveries and app updates 

• Analyze usage patterns to improve the app experience

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.  We may share data with:

• Apple Inc. for payment processing and App Store services

• Analytics providers (in aggregated, anonymized form) to understand app usage

* We do not share your individual photos or location history with third parties for advertising purpose *

4. Data Retention

Your account data is kept while your account remains active. 

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, 

except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

5. Children's Privacy

WilderDEX! is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@viberelic.com so we can delete it.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & Privacy Rights)

If you are located in the European Union or another jurisdiction with applicable privacy rights,

you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

• Right to rectification: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

• Right to erasure: You may request that we delete your personal data.

You can also delete your account directly within the app at any time.

• Right to data portability: You may request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

• Right to restrict processing: You may request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.

• Right to object: You may object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to deletion: You may request that we delete your personal data, subject to certain exceptions required by law.

8: Social Features & Messaging

WilderDEX! includes social features such as direct messaging between users, a friends system, and a public showcase.

Message Content: Messages you send and receive are stored on our servers and linked to  your account. We do not sell or share your message content with third  parties, except as required by law.

Automated Content Moderation: All messages are automatically screened by an AI content moderation  system before delivery. Messages containing sexual, violent, abusive,  harassing, or exploitative content may be blocked and will not be  delivered. Flagged messages may be reviewed by our moderation team.

Blocking & Reporting: You may block any user to prevent them from messaging you. You may  report users or specific messages for review by our team. We take all  reports seriously and will take action (including account suspension or  termination) for verified violations.

Data Retention: Message history is retained while your account is active. You may  delete individual conversations at any time. Deleted messages are  removed from your view but may be retained briefly for safety and  moderation purposes before permanent deletion.
